My story with tre ministries actually begins years ago.

I grew up in a traditional Christian family with similar experiences to today’s youth who often struggle with faith, purpose and future.  As a young adult, I was fortunate to meet people with a strong Christian faith that were excited to

discuss the bible and to be Christian!  They accepted me for where I was in my journey, encouraged and supported me.  I opened my first bible at the age of 29 and fell in love with the stories I had heard about as a child in Sunday School. Their meanings and the depth that I was able to find in each chapter inspired me to want more.

I remember the day when I felt I was enough.  The news of Gods grace and forgiveness was life changing for me. I wanted to share the message with others, as I had received it, in relationship with Him and His revealing himself to me in many ways that I could understand. My passion is to express this to others so we all know this, trust it, and believe in Him. His grace is sufficient for all of us.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
— 2 Corinthians 12:9

I have worked with children, youth and families at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for over 10 years. I started to concentrate on High School youth and young adults about five years ago when my own two children entered high school. It became my goal to create a space for youth and their friends to feel welcomed no matter their faith or their path in life.  While at Gloria Dei, I organized several Inner City Mission Trips where over 450 High School youth and young adults practiced sharing the love of Christ with all those they met.  These experiences opened their hearts to be leaders for Christ.  I see tre ministries as an extension of that growth and leadership in faith for Sioux Falls. We are here to support, strengthen and love one another.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.
— Romans 1:16

God planted something deep within me and it became my focus and passion to pray for and support the youth.  I had no idea the depth of the ministry He would put on my heart.  I am excited to partner with others in this ever-changing, challenging, and fulfilling mission to touch the lives of high school, college and young adults throgh tre ministries!
