When You Don’t Feel Ready
Maybe you thought you’d be further along by now.
Maybe there’s a big decision ahead that you don’t feel ready for.
Or maybe you just wish God would make things a little clearer.
When you don’t know what’s next, it’s easy to believe that readiness is the goal — that you can’t move until you feel prepared, confident, or certain. But Scripture tells a different story. Over and over, God calls people who don’t feel ready.
Moses said he couldn’t speak well.
Gideon said he was too weak.
Mary didn’t have a plan — just a “yes.”
Each of them stepped forward not because they had all the answers, but because they trusted the One who did.
The truth is, readiness rarely feels like what we expect. Sometimes God asks us to take the first step while we’re still afraid — to walk forward before we see the full picture. Because if we waited until we felt ready, we might never move at all.
Proverbs 16:9 says, “A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.” It’s a reminder that direction starts not with perfect confidence, but with surrendered trust.
So if you’re in a season of uncertainty — unsure of your next move, your purpose, or your timeline — take heart. God isn’t waiting for you to be fully prepared. He’s inviting you to be fully present.
Let this be the season you trade pressure for peace, confusion for closeness, fear for faith.
You don’t have to know every detail of what’s next. You just need to trust the One who does.
Because readiness isn’t a feeling — it’s a posture of the heart that says,
“God, I’m here. I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m willing to follow where You lead.”
